BBC Football Connect

BBC World News was looking for a medium to reach out to different media agencies and build a connect with them. We created the BBC World News Football Connect Tournament where 18 leading media agencies from Mumbai battled out in a 5-a-side football event.
We devised avenues at every step of the event to increase engagement with the participants and delivered a phenomenal fan experience. Even before the event started, we generated excitement around it by organizing a virtual challenge where people played against a virtual Ronaldo on an Oculus. During the event, our innovative additions like a massage corner, transparent and easily visible points table, cross-bar challenges significantly improved the participant experience. Moreover, the cross-bar challenge was instrumental in engaging the female on-lookers as well.
